Meet the Islamic Education mentors on the Madinah and Bab Summer Courses – Part 5

Updated 20 June 2012

Over the next few weeks, we will be introducing you to the mentors that have been appointed to accompany the group this year.

8. Qasim Gulamhusein – Stanmore, UK
Qasim graduated with a BA in Economics from the University of Cambridge and is currently working as a management consultant. He previously conducted student workshops in India and taught English in China. He loves travelling, plays squash and is a Manchester United fan.

Qasim states “I attended the Madinah al-Ilm camp as a student in 2010 and found it life changing – it made me think introspectively about myself,  discuss Islamic  principles with people who have now become good friends and complete the ziyarat of our 8th Imam (AS) and Bibi Masuma (AS). It will be an honour to return as a mentor.”

Qasim would like to use the camp as an opportunity to discuss issues facing Muslim youth in the modern world (e.g, social / religious boundaries, culture vs. religion, external perceptions of Islam).
